Gentian Violet and Diflucan: Are the Risks Worth It? You Decide.

The other day I was on a forum relating to thrush and some moms were discussing the pros and cons of using the natural approach versus Diflucan or Gentian Violet. (Note that Gentian Violet is not actually a natural remedy - it's a home remedy that has serious health risks associated with it.)

At any rate, one mom was saying that basically she tried some natural stuff and it didn't work so she used gentian violet on her child because he kept getting thrush and it kept coming back. Regarding the cancer risk she said something to the effect of, "That stuff's so nasty I wouldn't doubt it." (Note: this problem of recurring thrush is exactly why I recommend curing the yeast at the root rather than just treating symptomatically again and again. This child is at risk for long term yeast-related health problems.)

Now, as moms, we each have to make our own choices, but to me, I tend to go the very conservative approach when it comes to my children. I try my absolute hardest to minimize any risk to them. So my question is, okay even if the risk of oral cancer to your child from gentian violet is small, how would you feel if 30, 40, or even 50 years down the line your child developed oral cancer? Would it have been the work risk to you? Could you live with the possibility that you might have caused this to happen to your child?

I know I couldn't and that's one reason why I was so determined to come up with a completely natural and safe program for thrush, which you can download at http://www.GetRidofThrush.com.

Now, another mom was saying basically, Diflucan works like a charm and I'm sure the risk for liver failure is very small. First of all, liver failure is just one of the risks of Diflucan - that's the worst case (and deadly) scenario. There's a whole gamut of reactions that can lead up to that. Next, you have to understand that the toxic load to your child is a cumulative thing - many diseases are not caused from one toxin, but rather a cumulation over time of toxins. Just like with radiation - one x-ray may not cause cancer, but the cumulative radiation exposure over your life all adds up. It's the same way with toxic drugs like Diflucan.

Now the other issue I mentioned also applies here - what if you child is that child who does go into liver failure? Will it have been worth it to have the ease of giving her a pill that "worked like a charm?" I'm the kind of person that thinks about these things. I just couldn't live with myself if something that happened to my child that I could have prevented.

Is it easier for the mom to give your baby a few pills rather than go through the steps to rebalance your child's body and cure the yeast at the root? Yeah, I guess it is. But I guess every mom has got to make the decision on what's important.

Now, I know that most moms don't have the knowledge that I have on yeast and other health issues and so some turn to less-than-ideal treatments out of frustration or lack of knowing what to do. But I can assure you, that every single mom who I've worked with (and I offer free unlimited consultations to every one of my clients) has gotten rid of the thrush safely and naturally and permanently. And you know what? They felt good about it too.

Good luck to you!

Adult Oral Thrush: Ouch!

I had a client email me yesterday asking me to call him for a personal consultation about his severe case of oral thrush. It turns out he'd been on antibiotics for 3 months for a sinus infection, and now had thrush on his tongue and in the back of his throat. On top of that, he also experienced a lot of fatigue and had started suffering from migraines.

No fun at all, I'd say! This is a perfect example of the misuse of antibiotics and how they can cause so many other health problems, including thrush. Antibiotics wipe out your body's natural yeast defenses, which leaves a huge percentage of our population vulnerable to thrush as well as other chronic yeast infections.

What this young man didn't realize is that antibiotics are rarely helpful for sinusitis, despite the side effects. In fact, as study by the Mayo Clinic implicated fungus as the primary cause of sinusitis! No wonder the antibiotics had made his problem worse rather than better.

After he read my book and we spoke he realized the connection between his thrush and other health problems. This is also another example of why the holistic approach is often best: otherwise, you try to kill one thing (in this case bacteria) and another infectious organism pops up in his place!

While I'm practical about western medicine - even pharmaceuticals have their place - the truth is antibiotics are widely overused misused, often causing more problems than they solve.

Breastfeeding Thrush: "I Have Thrush So Bad it's in My Armpits!"

This is what a friend told me when she called me a couple of months ago. She was on her second baby (3 months old) and was beside herself with stress and exhaustion. She had a 2-year-old already, a husband working 7 days a week to make ends meet, and she really had a bad case of thrush - worse, she really had candidiasis, which is when the yeast has gone systemic. On top of that, the inflammation from the yeast in her breast tissue was causing recurrent mastitis and problems with her milk supply regulation. Her baby also had symptoms of oral thrush.

I talked to her for a while and told her what she needed to do. She was afraid her case was just too severe but really did not want to take harmful drugs or give them to her baby, so she decided to give my recommendations a try. At any rate, a few weeks later her baby was completely clear. Another 3 weeks later she called to thank me and tell me she was back to her normal self and couldn't believe it but the mastitis and all of her fatigue, thrush and other yeast symptoms were gone too.

This is a perfect example of how having thrush/yeast is a sign that your body and/or your baby's body, is out of balance. This underlying imbalance leaves a person susceptible not only to yeast but to other infections and health problems as well - and that's why it's so important not just to kill the yeast when treating thrush. On top of that, many pharmaceutical and even home remedies for thrush are toxic, making the underlying imbalance even worse.

Whoa! Talk About Misinformation on Thrush

As you can probably guess from the title of my blog, I'm pretty into the topic of thrush. Why? Because it's a topic that has such important consequences for babies and children's health as well as moms. Many older adults are affected as well.

It's also quite difficult to get helpful, accurate information on thrush. In fact, you'll find plenty of information from credible sources on the internet that is quite unhelpful. For example, here's what WebMD has to say about home treatments for thrush:

"Drink cold liquids, such as water or iced tea, or eat flavored ice treats or frozen juices. Eat foods that are easy to swallow such as gelatin, ice cream, or custard."

I'm sure the author of this article means well, but they obviously don't have a clue about how to properly treat thrush. Yeast loves sugar and not only will sugar promote yeast internally, it will drastically make the oral thrush worse! This is just one example of how careful you have to be when searching the net for health information.

For more information on how to cure thrush quickly and naturally, without the use of harmful drugs, checkout my ebook "The 3-Day Thrush Cure" at http://www.GetRidofThrush.com.

Good luck to you!

Thrush in Babies: Can Babies Get Candida?

It's amazing how the power of the internet has awoken so much interest in natural and alternative health. Actually, it's quite awesome really. With this awakening there's been a huge surge in awareness of the fact that chronic yeast problems can cause or worsen a myriad of health problems, including fatigue, autoimmune disorders, asthma, allergies, autism, ADD/ADHD, PMS, depression, and brain fog, to name a few.

So I have to say it's really surprising to me how little awareness there is of the fact that many yeast problems first originate as thrush in infants. I suppose because babies and toddlers can't communicate very well, there's just less realization that yeast can cause just as many problems in babies and toddler as it can in adults. In fact, many long term yeast/candida problems originated in infants or toddlers.

I'm hoping to raise awareness of this issues amongst moms so they'll be motivated to treat infant thrush/thrush in babies at the root. Cure it and keep it from coming back - for good. Babies deserve the best and they are dependent on us to keep them out of harm's way! Yeast can be an insidious problem, and it's not truly cured by toxic drugs or even many "natural" remedies - such as gentian violet, which I don't consider a safe choice for babies or adults with thrush. You can read my article about gentian violet by clicking here.

Infant Thrush: Why are Drugs So Popular?

It's pretty amazing to me - if you do a simple search for "infant thrush treatment", 9 out 10 results you find will recommend pharmaceuticals such as Nystatin or, worse, Diflucan. Why is that?

I'd venture to guess one reason is that infant thrush and breastfeeding thrush are caused by yeast, and yeast can be tricky little creatures to get under control once they've taken hold. The fact that they've grown into thrush is a sign that conditions are to their liking.

Most health practitioners, even midwives, recommend pharmaceuticals for thrush because they simply aren't aware of how to cure thrush naturally, and how to cure the thrush in a way that ensures it won't simply grow back again.

My own experiences with yeast-related health issues, which began when I was a child, let me to develop a completely safe and natural program to cure thrush naturally, which you can read about at http://www.GetRidofThrush.com.

Good luck to you and your baby!

Infant Thrush: Review of "The 12 Hour Cure for Yeast Infection"

If you are seeking natural treatment for infant thrush and breastfeeding thrush, you may come across some promotions for Sarah Summer's "12 Hour Cure for Yeast Infection". So I just want to give you a head's up that this book is not a good choice for information on infant thrush and breastfeeding thrush. This book is geared primarily for women with chronic vaginal yeast and has very little information on infant thrush and/or breastfeeding thrush.

Nothing against Ms. Summers, but this is apparently not her area of specialty. If you read my blog, you will know that I take infant thrush seriously because my study of all the current research, as well as my own personal experiences, have led me to firmly believe that many children develop chronic yeast-related health problems as a result of contracting thrush as infants which was never treated properly.

For complete information on infant thrush, you may like to check out my ebook, "The 3 Day Thrush Cure."

Why Thrush Can Lead to Other Infections

One of the biggest mistakes practically ever health professional makes when treating thrush is to look at it as an isolated problem. The fact is the presence of thrush (yeast overgrowth) is a signal that something is wrong in the body on a deeper level.

Just because thrush is so common, doesn't mean that it's normal, healthy or something you don't need to be concerned about. Thrush is a sign the immune system is weak and vulnerable to any kind of infection. Compounding that is that fact that the presence of yeast will continue to weaken immunity even further, paving the road for more serious health problems down the road.

Treating thrush holistically restores immunity and prevents further health problems from developing.

Common Breastfeeding Thrush Mistakes

Breastfeeding thrush can be a miserable experience for both babies and moms. Frustrated moms sometimes even give up breastfeeding due to lack of safe and effective treatment strategies for recurring thrush.

Here are some common mistakes to avoid to cure breastfeeding thrush safely and naturally:

1. Relying on prescription drugs: the problem with anti-fungal drugs (besides their toxicity) is they don't cure the underlying problem that allowed the thrush to grow in the first place. So oftentimes, as soon as you stop taking the drug, the yeast grows back. (Or you and you baby may also be susceptible to other opportunistic infections, besides thrush.)

2. Wearing a bra too much: It's important to keep the nipple skin clean and dry; milk/yeast residue on your bra may cause constant reinfection. Wash your bras in hot water and/or add vinegar to the rinse cycle to help kill any yeast that may be present.

3. Not treating baby: If your breastfeeding, it's crucial to treat your baby for thrush too even if he or she has no symptoms. A symptom-free baby can still be carrying the yeast, so that you're transferring it back and forth.

Causes of Infant Thrush

If you're like me, when your baby got thrush you're wondering, "why?" A lot of doctors and other sources will try to convince you that thrush is just something babies get and there's no real cause. Yes, infant thrush is very common, but why? Here are some causes of infant thrush:

ANTIBIOTICS: antibiotics wipe out your friendly flora, leaving you (and your baby) much more vulnerable to yeast.

PREMATURITY: premature babies are more vulnerable to all kinds of opportunistic infections, including infant thrush.

MOM HAS YEAST: if mom has a vaginal yeast infection, or any kind of yeast problem, then baby can catch it from mom. This is a very common way babies get thrush.

So what's the solution? By far the best solution to solve the causes of infant thrush is to go back to the beginning and cure the underlying imbalance that allowed the yeast to grow out of control. Ultimately, this is the only way to cure the thrush quickly and naturally and stop it from growing back. To learn how to do this, download my ebook "The 3-Day Thrush Cure."

Diflucan For Thrush? Why I Wouldn't Use Diflucan, Especially for Babies

Diflucan is a potent anti-fungal drug and it will help to kill of the yeast that's causing thrush - at least temporarily. Of course, it does nothing to help fix the underlying problem that allowed the thrush yeast to invade in the first place. In fact,Diflucan is quite toxic and For ultimately will make your body weaker, leaving you (or your baby) even more vulnerable to yeast overgrowth down the line.

Diflucan also has the risk of serious side effects, which you can read more about here.

I would never give a drug this toxic to my child unless there was a very good reason to do so, such as a life threatening fungal infection. Needless to say those instances are extremely are.

To learn how to cure thrush completely naturally, without the use of Diflucan or other toxic drugs, download my best-selling ebook "The 3-Day Thrush Cure."

Infant Thrush: Are Prescription Drugs Safe?

Infant thrush can make you and your baby miserable. As a mom, you want to cure your baby's suffering as quickly as possible and getting a prescription from your child's pediatrician may seem like a tempting solution.

However, is this such a good idea? Personally, I don't think so. Prescription drugs for infant thrush carry the risk of serious side effects - even the risk of liver failure or death in some rare instances.

Not only that, in 99.99% of cases, prescription drugs are simply completely unnecessary to cure infant thrush. A natural, holistic approach is safer and far more effective.

My 15 years of experience as a natural health professional, as well as my own experiences with infant thrush, led me to write "The 3-Day Thrush Cure" - a complete guide for moms who want to cure infant thrush and breastfeeding thrush quickly and naturally, without the use of harmful drugs.

Infant Yeast Infection? How to Cure It

Infant yeast infections, or infant thrush, can be troubling for both moms and babies. Infection yeast infections can take different forms, most commonly as infant oral thrush or as a yeast diaper rash.

It's important to realize that infant yeast infections can develop into more long term, chronic health problems for your baby if you don't nip it in the bud while you can.

Just as yeast overgrowth has become a serious health problem in adults, babies and children are even more vulnerable. An infant yeast infection that's not cured properly (i.e. by curing the underlying imbalance so the yeast doesn't grow back)can easily lead to chronic yeast problems, which are known to cause or worsen many health conditions, including:

*asthma
*allergies
*ADD/ADHD
*fibromyalgia
*chronic fatigue
*arthritis
*autoimmune disease.

My best-selling ebook, "The 3 Day Thrush Cure" is designed to show you how to cure an infant yeast infection quickly and naturally, without risky drugs or questionable "home remedies." Good luck!

Infant Thrush Natural Remedies

Infant thrush has become so common these days, in part due to the widespread use of antibiotics during labor and delivery for c-sections and strep b prophylaxis (prevention.)

Does your baby have those tell-tale symptoms of infant thrush? If so, it's great that you're looking for natural remedies to solve the problem. Pediatricians think nothing of whipping of prescriptions for infant yeast, yet so often fail to inform you that prescription anti-fungals can have serious side effects in anyone, what to speak of an infant.

As a natural health professional, I'm a huge fan of natural and alternative remedies - however I'm also aware that often times home remedies may be recommended which are not necessarily safe. Just because something's natural doesn't mean it's appropriate for children or babies.

For example, some of the "natural" remedies that I would definitely steer clear of for infant thrush include gentian violet, colloidal silver, oregano oil and tea tree oil. These infant thrush natural remedies can actually end up causing more harm than good. For more information on why I don't recommend these just click here.

Thrush and Breastfeeding: How to Fix This Frustrating Problem

Yeast cells are wiley little critters and they can make life hard for breastfeeding moms. If you're dealing with breastfeeding thrush, you may experience the following symptoms:

*itchy, red or painful nipples
*flaky, peeling skin
*deep shooting pains in your breasts
*pain while nursing that doesn't go away.

You may also notice symptoms in your baby, such as:

*white patches on your baby's tongue or gums or inside baby's cheeks
*increased fussiness
*difficulty nursing
*reluctance to nurse.

Breastfeeding thrush is often linked to exposure to antibiotics curing labor and delivery - this is one common risk factor for thrush. Prematurity is another risk factor, as premature infants are more susceptible to any kind of opportunistic infection. I have some more information on thrush and breastfeeding here.

To learn more about breastfeeding thrush and how you can cure it naturally and holistically, just visit my website www.GetRidofThrush.com. With over 15 years of professional experience in the natural health industry, when I confronted breastfeeding thrush myself I realized how difficult it is to find truly safe and effective information to cure thrush naturally. Nipple Thrush - How to Relieve the Pain and Discomfort of Nipples Thrush

Taking care of a newborn is so wonderful - and it's also a lot of hard work! Newborns are so helpless and vulnerable; they require incessant care. Between night wakings, diaper changes and recovering from childbirth, the last thing a breastfeeding mom needs is nipples thrush - ouch!

If you have nipples thrush, it's important to realize that you're going to need to treat both yourself and your baby. Otherwise, even if your baby doesn't have any obvious symptoms of yeast thrush, you can end up passing the yeast back and forth.

It's also best to treat your child to make sure he or she doesn't have yeast overgrowth unseen to the naked eye - growing in his or her intestines, for example. Yeast overgrowth is so common these days and can cause problems in babies and children just as it does in so many adults.

For immediate relief of nipples thrush, try massaging them with olive oil or coconut oil. Both olive oil and coconut oil have natural anti-yeast properties and are very soothing. After nursing, you can also try mixing a little baking soda with water and making a paste to apply to your nipples. The alkaline pH of the baking soda helps stop the yeast from growing. If you like, you can also try alternating these remedies. (For more information on nipples thrush, you may also like to read my article on ezinearticles.com here.)

For ideal results for you and your baby - and to prevent the yeast leading to more serious health problems down the road - the best approach is to correct the imbalance that allowed the thrush to grow out of control in the first place. This is best done naturally and holistically.

As a natural health professional with over 15 years of experience in the industry, when I confronted breastfeeding thrush myself I realized what a lack there is of truly helpful and safe information on how to treat thrush naturally. This led me to write my best-selling ebook, "The 3-Day Thrush Cure", which is specifically designed to cure nipples thrush quickly and naturally - without expensive doctors' visits or harmful drugs. To download your copy, simply go to http://www.GetRidofThrush.com.

Toddlers Thrush - How to Treat Toddler Thrush Naturally

Thrush can be difficult and stubborn - come to think of it, so can toddlers! Toddlers' temperament and young age means that you need to apply special considerations to treat toddler thrush effectively.

One of the first things to consider in toddler thrush is your toddler's diet: too much sugar of any kind (even honey or other more wholesome sweeteners) need to be limited until your child's thrush clears up. Fruit juice can also pose a problem as can white flour and other processed foods.

Yeasted foods are also best avoided while you treat your child: some of the more common offenders are yeasted bread, aged cheese, "yeast extract" and related flavorings found in processed foods, soy sauce or leftovers.

One of the good things about having a toddler with thrush is that it can give you the motivation to look at your child's diet and see where you can make some healthy changes - ideally not just to treat thrush but for the long haul as well.

Toddler thrush is a sign that your child's immune system is weakened - leaving him or her vulnerable not only to yeast, but to other opportunistic infections as well.

For more information on toddler thrush, check out my article on ezinearticles.com.
